Thejaswini Sharma – The Green Panther

A person involved with nature and not materials, a human who believes that consistency in all aspects of life brings humankind greatness. She is deeply grounded, and there’s so much more to add to her personality.

Here is something we should know about this wonderful human;

1. You’ve been here for quite some time. Can you tell us some important things to survive here in this industry?

Answer: My mentors guided me to be constantly disciplined in my work. I must catch up on a few projects due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have yet to learn, so it’s a little difficult to teach or tell someone about the industry, but being humble to everybody, from the hairdresser to the director, has surely helped me survive.

2. How important is the support provided by the families of the actors in the industry?

Answer: Emotional strength is always provided by our families; it’s very important.  Family is the people we call home. Friends who are family are constantly checking on us, and this makes us feel good and become stronger.

3. Tell us about your upcoming movie,’ English Manja’, and more about your work.

Answer: I’ve worked in a female-centric movie called ‘ Flat No.9’; we had an average run, but this project was important for me. And there was ‘Mary’, another one of my movies. It’s going to be released in February. I’m just hoping for the best.

” English Manja’ is a film I’ve been cautious about. It’s not that I wasn’t careful before, but this is a commercial release. In this movie, I play a very not-so-outspoken but beautiful character. This is one of those movies that covers most of our emotions. I’m sure we’ll react to these emotions. I’m sure everyone will relate to this.

4. How was your experience working in these movies?

Answer: I’ve had a great start. I’ve been cast in many movies, and all of these movies have given me so much experience. I’m looking forward to evolving as an actor. I learned from my co-actors, criticised my acting skills and expressions on screen, and tried to improve in every scene. Trying to live up to the character the director has in his story because we can enhance the expression and the scene, but if any improvisation is against the character’s basic nature in the script, it wouldn’t do well with the director.

5. What are your expectations from this movie?

Answer: I want this movie to be noticed and viewed because it’s worth it. Cinema is something to be enjoyed. The audience should either relate to the movie, or it has to serve as an escape from reality. The movie English Manja is one such movie that fits into both categories. I just hope for the best.

6. What do you think is most essential to become an actor?

Answer: Being considerate and flexible is one of the few ways to morph into a character at hand. We have to be confident while facing the camera.

7. You’ve worked on many music videos in various languages. You’ve worked in a Hindi music video as well. If I’m right, it was ‘Awara Hoon’ by Kovid Mittal. How was your experience?

Answer: It was one of the best experiences I could have gotten. I was fortunate enough. I remember being nervous but could barely show it because I had to do my best there. It had the most commercial numbers as it was a mainstream album. This was so different from my previous albums, the ones I did in South India. I engaged with a lot of experienced people to learn and implement. Kiran, Chinni Prakash’s assistant, did the choreography. It was a fantastic experience.

8. Valentine’s is coming closer, so is there anything you want to tell the readers?

Answer: I would want them to be true to themselves. Please, don’t lie to your inner self. First, acknowledge your true self and love that part of yourself. Loving ourselves for who we are is very important. Yes, just learn to love your true self.

9. Can you tell us something about your cultural background?

Answers: My mother is from Madikeri, Kodagu, and my father is a Brahmin. This also explains my interest in spirituality. I pray and meditate for my mental health. It’s important to acknowledge where we come from and how we’ve evolved.

10. What makes us better human beings or good people?

Answer:  When a knife is used to kill, it’s a weapon, but when used in a life-saving operation, it’s not a weapon. Punctuality, Love and Humility make us better humans. Some sort of connection with nature helps us understand ourselves and understand others better. This is a path to a good space, peaceful space.
